Obituary Ella Lindsay Theriot, 91, of Bryson City, NC and previously of her home state of Louisiana passed away on July 10, 2022 at her private residence in Bryson City with her Daughter, Brenda by her side. Ella is survived by her children, Brenda Lindsay Monceaux of Cherokee, NC, David Wayne Lindsay of Scott, LA. And Debra Theriot; grandchildren, Heath Breaux, Chris Breaux, Justin Leblanc and Jason Leblanc; step grand children, Derek Monceaux (wife Christina) great-grandchildren, Beau Breaux, Cooper Breaux, Cutter Breaux and Grant Breaux; step-great grandchildren, Alyssa and Dameon Monceaux; sisters, Shirley Martin of Lafayette, LA; friend, Eunella Miller. Preceded in death by her parents, Mazard David and Hilda (Romero) David; son, William Norman Lindsay; brother, Leo J. David; sisters, Una G. Riggs, Millie Thibodeaux and Mildred Mouton. Ella was born on November 27, 1930 in Delcambre, LA in Vermilion Parish. She had earned her GED and worked for D.H. Holmes. In later years she was a caregiver of Children and loved all her “Babies” and Children she met and raised. Ella met and married Jackie Lindsay of the Big Cove Community of Cherokee, NC. After the birth of her first child Brenda they lived for a while in Cherokee, NC then moved to Louisiana where she had three more children: Norman, Wayne and Debra. Ella loved gardening in both flowers and vegetables. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved Family meals and went all out for her Family at meal time! Ella loved her Nephews and the Griggs brothers, Phil, Don, Danny and Steven, “her guys” as she called them. Mamom Lindsay as she was known to all the great grandchildren and other “lil” ones was a joy to have in their lives. Ella remarried Mr. Woodrow Theriot. And, never remarried after his death. They were dancing partners and loved to French Dance to the Louisiana Classics. Ella was greatly cared for by her daughter Brenda until her death. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She will forever be in the hearts of the Family. The Family thanks Long House Funeral Home and Mr. Bruce Martin, Jr.; the staff of Four Seasons Hospice; Mrs. Zena Wolfe for Flowers; Grannies Kitchen, and Family and Friends of Cherokee and Louisiana; the 1973 NHS sisters, the Aunts; Yvonne Bushyhead, Delores Maney, Perry Shell and Grave Diggers, Gary French and Cettie Fench; Miriam and Noel Blakely for their gracious burial spot and help in the loss. Also thanks to Rock Springs Baptist church and Pastor Gregg Morgan and the members of the Church for assistance and the Fellowship Hall; thanks to the Dearest Friend “lil Sista”, Candice Stepp and her lil angel Nevaeh who were there always for Ella.
